• Who I Am

I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of well-crafted wood—the kind that invites you to run your hand across it. But it wasn’t until 2018 that I found the space and time to pursue woodworking in a real, focused way. I built a 1,000-square-foot shop in my home in Racine, Wisconsin, and from the moment I finished my first project—a 10-foot bar crafted from birch, walnut, maple, and mahogany—I was hooked.

I’m self-taught, driven by curiosity, and committed to doing things the right way. That means slowing down, paying attention to the wood, and letting each piece reveal what it wants to become.

I have a deep reverence for the wood I work with—living material that once stood tall and will now continue its story in someone’s home. My goal is to honor that journey by shaping each piece with care, purpose, and respect for what it once was—and what it will become.

• What I Make

At SLH_Woodcrafts, I design and build artisan furniture and woodworking pieces that are made to be used, appreciated, and passed down. My work includes sculpted rocking and dining chairs, hardwood dining tables, desks, and unique end-grain cutting boards etc.. Each piece is built by hand, one at a time, using sustainably sourced hardwoods like Cherry, Walnut, Maple, and Oak.

Whether it’s a custom commission or a studio original, my goal is the same: create something with lasting beauty, strength, and soul. My showroom is my home.

• Why I Build

Woodworking grounds me. It’s more than shaping material—it’s about creating connection. A handmade piece tells a story: of the tree it came from, the hands that shaped it, and the lives it will become part of.

I build furniture because I believe in making things that matter. Things that carry meaning. That stands the test of time—not just in durability, but in the memories they help create.

This is not mass production. It’s craftsmanship with purpose. One piece, one story, one relationship at a time.
